Famed water from rich springs in a deep forest of huge trees
Ikeyama Springs, one of the 100 Famed Mineral Waters designated by the Ministry of the Environment of Japan, produce as much as 30 tons of water per minute at a constant temperature of 13.5°C. The springs are in the midst of a deep forest of trees of many kinds including huge trees more than 200 years old. The pure water forms the Tamarai River, which joins the Ohno River and flows all the way to Beppu Bay. It is one of the best examples of tasty water of Kumamoto.
