Hirayama Onsen Ichiboku Isso

Eight cottage guestrooms with individual baths

The inn sits quietly at the foot of a mountain, surrounded by a bamboo forest. Renovated from old traditional buildings, the inn has an atmospheric modern Japanese architecture. The entrance was once a historic sake cellar. The gates and walls were built by a master carpenter who worked on the restoration of Yachiyoza Theater, which is designated as an important cultural asset of Japan. The eight guestrooms are in cottages, each with a distinct design. One of the rooms has a suite reconstructed from a tea house of the Meiji period (1868–1912). Each guestroom has its own bath. The inn is proud of its baths filled with free-flowing, 100% natural hot spring water. The water is said to be good for the skin, giving the onsen its name – "bath of the beauty". In addition to the individual baths in the guestrooms, the inn has a semi-open bath and cave bath, where you can soak in the beauty of the changing seasons of Japan. Visitors who will not be staying overnight at the guesthouse may also drop by to enjoy these baths. The inn serves superb kaiseki (traditional Japanese course) meals, prepared with plenty of local food in season by a skilled chef. The meals are sure to delight your eyes with its beautiful colors. Relax and enjoy an undisturbed getaway with splendid hot springs and delicious food.
